anything that you can get your ideas out with. simple as that. some people like one thing, some people like another. on the old school tip, there's nothing like an MPC3000 or SP1200. on the new school end of things there's Native Instruments Maschine and MPC Renaissance... on the software end there's numerous things. as long as you can sequence in real time and edit in step time if necessary, then you have everything you need right there. at the end of the day, they are all inanimate tools that need to be practiced and worked on before something truly great can happen. the real tool is your own creativity, imagination, dedication and discipline
