What made you pack up from London and move to the LA scene?
around the time i moved to London, Bjork left it. i remember her saying "i wanted to make sure i got out before it turned bad". that always stayed in my mind. not that it was turning bad, but i felt that after 10 years, i'd done my time there, learnt a lot, grown a lot and it was time to move. i grew up in NZ by the pacific so i was really missing that vibe too. LA provided sunshine, the ocean and a whole new world of musical challenges and opportunities. CHURCH is a big reflection of that and i'm excited to see what else presents itself and grows from being here.
i did always want to live in the states - i went to the UK originally chasing a girl (!) and ended up coming across a whole community of amazing creatives and staying for a decade. funny tho, the US focus was always about NYC. i never imagined i'd be in LA. i'm really happy about the choice tho and feel like it was one of the best decisions i've made for all the right reasons: music/love/life :)
Can you give any hints into the musical direction/concept of the new RENEGADES album?
Also, what are some of your favorite albums that have been released over the last few years?
Daaamn! and I thought about moving there (UK). Already did LA & NYC and understood your theory. I still thinking MASCHINE and I have Logic 9 & Live 8 but trying to get used to it. I miss my MPC!!!Mark de Clive-Lowe responded on 03/25/2011
