Can you give any hints into the musical direction/concept of the new RENEGADES album?
Also, what are some of your favorite albums that have been released over the last few years?
the official word on RENEGADES will be soon enough, but for now i can tell you that it's my bridge album between the UK years and my new home in LA with guests from both sides of the Atlantic :) it's a producer album along similar lines to Tide's Arising in that there's a whole lot of instrumental and vocal guests contributing to it and it's mostly vocal tracks. a lot of it is mid-tempo, with a few club tempo cuts in the mix as well. LA singer-songwriter nia andrews features heavily on the record and there's also musical contributors including pino palladino (d'angelo), omar phillips (outkast/dungeon family), mike feingold (badu), lil john roberts (george duke/janet jackson), miguel atwood-ferguson (suite for ma' dukes) and more. vocal guests include... hold up, i think that's enough for now ;) lol
the label is confirmed, release date will hopefully be early summer, all that and more to be announced soon!
2 recent releases i'm digging include KING's ep and the james blake album :)
For all of us overseas that cant make it to your legendary Church sessions, are you planning to release any live shows?
What made you pack up from London and move to the LA scene?Mark de Clive-Lowe responded on 03/25/2011
