MdCL, how did the concept of improvising beats and loops with live musicians originate.
when i toured my album 'Six Degrees' (2000) i would have all the beats pre-programmed on the MPC. one time in budapest we played all the material and the crowd still wanted more - but there was nothing more prepared. so i looked at the MPC and thought, "oh well, i better get up here and program a beat live". that moment was a turning point for me - it reminded me of the spontaneity and improvising the moment of playing jazz and from then on, that was how i wanted the shows to be. i've always been a live musician myself, so the combination of that with musicians was always a natural combination
how did you and brain themba meet...and what inspired you guys to form a label to together if am not mistaken....and how has the journey been working togetherMark de Clive-Lowe responded on 07/26/2013 Next question
